Winner of the Best Feature Documentary prize at the Global Nonviolent Film Festival Awards in 2021, “A Once and Future Peace” is a hybrid documentary that tracks a young man who is facing four felony charges as he navigates a restorative justice program. The film also flashes back to the indigenous origins of restorative justice and peacemaking circles in Canada’s territory of Yukon.

The session will be introduced by the film’s Executive Producer, and Past President of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers, Richard D. Burbidge, and the Founder and Director of Peacebuilders International (Canada) Eva Marszewski. This will be followed by a twenty minute version of the documentary.

A short question and answer will follow.
