The People’s Report – your voice represented by Catalyst 2030

Thank you to all who participated in the People’s Report survey. To see the results of this groundbreaking survey, download the report here.

The People’s Report highlighted the terrible impact of COVID-19 in communities across the world. We’ve seen the cracks have widened, but now we have an opportunity for real systems change.

How do we solve the world’s problems and change the trajectory on the SDGs? We have to listen to the people’s reality and shape government policies based on that. It is not a dream, it is a reality that we have positive collective power.

Catalyst 2030 survey

Translated into 43+ languages, Catalyst members are breaking records in an attempt to conduct the largest survey exploring people’s reality since the COVID-19 pandemic.

The People’s Report is a Catalyst 2030 collaboration that aims to use data and insights as a catalyst for discussion, representation and decision-making at the United Nations in 2021. Our Catalyst network and impact partners around the world circulated a playful survey, inviting participants to share their story in a fun way, through 11 questions. Our aim for this pilot year was ambitious – we wanted our survey to reach 10,000 participants, especially those who rarely have their voice represented to global leaders. By the time the survey closed on 6 September 2021, we had polled 17446 people. We hope to issue a People’s Report every year, for the next nine years, thus facilitating a conversation between the people of the world and our leaders. The findings of the first People’s Report survey were shared at the launch.

The Data

The data collected is anonymous and encrypted. The aggregated data is used to extrapolate insightful information that can help to drive social impact. The insights collected from the People’s Report survey will be used at crescendo moments to engage and hold world leaders accountable. The social enterprises which contributed to the project by distributing the survey to their networks will also be able to make use of the insights to support their strategies, research, programmes and advocacy work.

The survey was built and managed by Play Verto, a Social Enterprise that believes data can be a catalyst for positive change.

Play Verto is working with the Social Progress Imperative, which is creating a new way of defining the success of our societies, by measuring real quality of life, independent of economic indicators. The Social Progress Initiative is responsible for analysing the results and preparing the People’s Report.
