Decolonization in Practice: A Journey from Global North Leadership to Proximate

06 May 2024 | 17:00 - 18:00
Brief presentation and action planning with participants for their own organizations

In the international development industry, we must move beyond dialogue about a need to “decolonize” our work and take actual steps to create change. This session will explore: what practical steps can organizations take to undo a colonial legacy?

OneVillage Partners has been making changes in the way we operate, with both successes and missteps to share. We still have much work do to, and this process is one that continues to challenge us to go deeper.

In this session, we will share our journey and facilitate a dialogue about how we can stop just talking about decolonization and take actual steps to shift power. We hope people will leave this session feeling inspired and ready to take steps to shift power in their own organizations, wherever they are on that journey.
